On Sunday, July 4th 2010 at 12:30 p.m.(CDT), tens of thousands of spectators from around the world will line the streets of Mandan, North Dakota to celebrate Independence Day with the region’s largest parade. The Parade, themed “Groovin’ back to the 70’s “, will feature classic cars, the beautiful pageantry and tradition of high-stepping equestrians, spirited marching bands and numerous other displays.
Come rock with URL Radio at the Parade on Sunday. Starting at 10:15 on stage 7 (in front of the old JC Penny Building) Stacy & Nicole will be keeping you entertained. We’ll have music from Mike Swenson & Co, we’ll announce the parade entrants (only place on the route that does this) & to top it all off we’ll join you in helping set the world record for the longest chicken dance.
The day we have been waiting for since November has finally arrived. The nerves are going at high speed. We have made it to the the top 20 in the business plan competition out of 107. Tonight we do our 60 second pitch (which will be hard for two ladies who love to talk), and tomorrow we have interviews/presentations regarding our business plan & who URL Radio is. Tomorrow night around 5:30 is the Red Carpet Awards event & that’s when the nerves kick in to over-drive. We will find out if we win $500 from the people’s choice award, and then if we are one of five chose to receive $10,000 (that’s correct ten thousand dollars – we did not add another zero). Thus the reason we are nervous.
Cross your fingers, say a prayer or two & if you’re in Fargo stop on by the Hilton Garden Inn to see what 20 of the top new businesses in North Dakota are up to. For more info on Innovate ND you can visit www.innovatend.com. Thank you to everyone who has voted for us, supported us, and for those who support the Innovate ND program!!
Thank you to the 50+ people who helped us rock the river for charity Saturday night. Ben Suchy rocked the upper deck, & Scott Wild with Wild Trivia Tour rocked the lower deck. Mr. Delicious filled our stomachs with amazing food (I’m now in love with butterfinger cheesecake), and Maple River Distillery made the ride even more fun with their Ruhbarb Vodka & Ruhbarb Cordial. We had a lot of fun experimenting with all sorts of different sodas & stuff.
Big thank you to Precision Eyez for being a sponsor – be sure to stop by their store & tell them that URL Radio sent you so you can get $75 off polarized sunglasses (gotta protect the peeps).
